START WITH ONE TASK
Follow a revision from question to history.

INSIDE PENNEDCANON
Move your story forward.
Keep your vision in view.
PennedCanon brings your manuscript, feedback, and creative decisions into one writing workspace. Use AI to explore perspectives and work through revisions, with your intentions guiding what comes next.
Follow a fictional chapter through the AI Reader Panel and back to the manuscript. Choose the question, consider the feedback, and decide how to shape your next draft.
Current app screens use fictional sample text and illustrative responses. Personal manuscript and AI features require Author or Author Pro. Explore prepared literary samples free.
Invite a fresh perspective.
Choose AI reader perspectives and ask a question about your chapter: does a choice feel earned, where does the tension slip, or what might a reader expect next? Give the feedback a purpose that serves your story.

READING & FEEDBACK · AUTHOR & AUTHOR PRO
A fresh read. A clearer next draft.
Read your work away from the writing desk, notice what holds your attention, and capture ideas while they’re fresh. Bring those notes back into PennedCanon to guide your next revision.
- Prepare a reading edition. Choose saved manuscript versions and drafts in reading order and open the EPUB in Apple Books.
- Read and annotate. Highlight a passage and write your note on your Mac, iPhone or iPad. Apple’s iCloud carries supported Books content and annotations between your devices.
- Bring feedback back. Paste a note or import a notes file. For automatic background sync, authorize the optional Mac bridge. The configured background connection does not require a browser tab to stay open. Notes made on another device must first reach the Mac through iCloud.
- Review the outcome. Matching notes arrive as pending feedback; unmatched notes need review. Record an explicit decision with revision evidence when a note is addressed. Original Books annotations remain unchanged.
New editions preserve earlier feedback. Open each new EPUB in Books; this workflow does not replace an already-open book in place.
PROJECT GUIDANCE · AUTHOR & AUTHOR PRO
Give your voice a place in the process.
Keep your writing preferences and story-specific guidance beside the manuscript. Capture the voice, prose conventions, and details that matter to you, so future drafting assistance has clearer direction. Organize sections, explain why a rule matters, and record its scope and exceptions.
Standing rules contribute to future drafting guidance. Proposed rules remain available for review. Save each revision with an explanation, inspect version history and download the saved source document. Existing prose and canon decisions remain unchanged when you update the guide.
These personal-project features are available with Author and Author Pro, not free Explore. Existing authors can sign in; new visitors can see current access options.
